Homemade Peach Ice Cream
It’s hard to have more fun in the kitchen than making homemade ice cream. And it doesn’t get more delicious than when the recipe calls for fresh, peak season peaches and Loveless Cafe Peach Preserves. This recipe uses a 2-quart ice cream maker to create a summertime classic.

- Place chopped peaches in bowl and mix in lemon juice.
- Once peaches have released their juices (approximately 30 minutes), mash with a pastry blender or fork.
- In a large bowl, whisk together egg yolks, brown sugar, and salt until combined. Set aside.
- Pour whole milk and sweetened condensed milk into a medium-sized saucepan.
- Heat over medium, stirring continuously. Heat milk to 170 degrees and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly add warmed milk to egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly.
- Return mixture to saucepan and add mashed peaches, Peach Preserves, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
- Cook mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it again reaches 170 degrees.
- The custard is ready when it has reduced and thickened enough that it coats the back of a spoon.
- Place saucepan in sink and surround it with cold water, stirring as it cools.
- Pour cooled custard into a container then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Pour custard into ice cream maker. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for ice cream maker to churn.
